The best time to visit Dubai is between October and April, when temperatures are warm but manageable (22–32°C) and outdoor activities, desert safaris and beach days are all comfortable. November through February represents the peak of Dubai's winter social season — the weather is as close to perfect as a desert city can offer, with blue skies, warm sunshine and cool evenings.
The summer months (June–September) are extremely hot (38–48°C) and humid, but travellers who can tolerate the heat — spent largely in air-conditioned malls, hotels and restaurants — will find dramatically discounted rates.
Peak Season
November through February is Dubai's prime season. Temperatures sit at 22–30°C during the day with cool, pleasant evenings. The beach, outdoor dining, desert safaris and all outdoor attractions are at their best. The Dubai Shopping Festival (late January–February) transforms the city with deals, entertainment and events across all malls. New Year's Eve in Dubai — with the world-record fireworks display on the Burj Khalifa — is one of the world's great countdown celebrations. Hotels book up months ahead and command peak prices during this window.
Off-Peak / Low Season
June through September is Dubai's summer off-season. Daytime temperatures regularly exceed 40°C, the humidity is oppressive, and most outdoor activities are impractical between 10am and 6pm. However, indoor Dubai — the world's largest collection of air-conditioned malls, hotel pools and restaurants — remains fully operational. Hotel rates plummet by 40–60% at five-star properties that are among the most lavish in the world. The Dubai Summer Surprises festival runs through July–August with mall events and promotions. For budget luxury seekers, summer is Dubai's secret best season.
Shoulder Season Highlights
October is a superb month — the brutal summer heat is breaking (temperatures returning to 28–35°C), the city is buzzing with returning residents after the summer exodus, and you'll find better rates than November–February peak. March and April are still warm but increasingly hot (30–38°C); rates begin to ease from February onwards and the city has an energetic early spring feel before the summer migration begins. The Dubai Food Festival (February–March) showcases the city's extraordinary culinary diversity.
