Peak Season
November through February is the UAE's prime visitor season. Off-Peak / Low Season
June to September is the UAE's extreme summer. Temperatures regularly exceed 40°C (Abu Dhabi's inland areas can touch 48°C), humidity is high, and outdoor time is limited to early morning or after 8pm. However, for those comfortable in extreme heat, this is the UAE's best-value season: luxury five-star hotels in Dubai offer 40–60% discounts, the malls and indoor attractions are half-empty, and service everywhere is more personalised. The Dubai Summer Surprises festival (July–August) fills malls with entertainment and promotions. Many UAE residents leave for cooler countries during this period.
Shoulder Season Highlights
October is arguably the UAE's finest month — summer heat is breaking (28–35°C), the city re-energises as residents return, hotel rates haven't yet hit peak levels, and both beach and desert activities are comfortable. March and April are warm but manageable (30–38°C), with lower rates than January–February peak and a full programme of events including Art Dubai (March) and the Dubai Food Festival. These months suit travellers who want good weather without the very highest prices.

The Art Dubai fair (March) is the Middle East's leading contemporary art event. The Dubai World Cup (March), at Meydan Racecourse, is the world's richest horse race.
